Sophie has been part of the Foundation since 2022 and has given so much of her time, knowledge and energy to supporting our work across the borough of Sutton.
From helping with safeguarding and attending matches, to offering encouragement and support behind the scenes, Sophie has been a valued member of our board and Foundation family.
One of Sophie’s many strengths has been her tireless work in seeking out relevant and accessible funding opportunities, helping us explore ways to continue delivering the important, supportive community work that sits at the heart of Sutton United Foundation.
We are especially grateful for the positivity and belief she has shown in new projects and ideas, and for the support she has given to our Chairman Phil Hedger, Harry Dunne, Bobby Childs and the wider board as the Foundation has continued to grow.
While we are sad to see Sophie step down as Trustee, we are delighted for her as she begins her new role with Richmond and Wandsworth Borough Councils, heading up sports provision. We have no doubt she will bring the same warmth, commitment and enthusiasm to this role as she has brought to the Foundation.
We very much hope to continue seeing Sophie and her family at games throughout the 2026/27 season as she continues to support Sutton United and, of course, Reading FC too.
