Blue Monday

Blue Monday – and why it doesn’t get to define your day

You may have heard that January 19th is known as Blue Monday — often labelled as the “most depressing day of the year.”

The idea comes from a mix of things many of us feel in January: darker mornings, colder weather, post-Christmas bills, broken resolutions, and that long stretch until spring feels close again. Put it all together and… well, it can feel heavy.

But here’s the important part 👉 Blue Monday is a concept, not a verdict!

Feeling low doesn’t mean you’re failing. Feeling tired doesn’t mean you’re behind. And feeling unmotivated doesn’t mean you won’t get moving again.

Some days are simply slower. Quieter. More reflective.
And that’s okay.

If today feels a bit “blue,” try this:

  • Take one small win — even getting dressed counts
  • Step outside for a few minutes of fresh air
  • Message someone who makes you smile
  • Be kinder to yourself than you were yesterday
  • Look for an activity to join ( Click here for some ideas)

You don’t have to fix everything today.
You don’t have to feel positive all the time.
You just have to keep going — gently.

January isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up, one day at a time.

And if no one’s told you yet today:
✨ You’re doing better than you think.

Take care of yourself — brighter days are coming 💙
